6. MEMBERSHIP

6.1. Friendship, support and mutual respect will be our basis of membership.

6.2. Membership in OdiSA shall be open to all natural persons above 18 years of age who were born in oDishA, were or are resident of oDishA or are descendants of residents (past or present) of oDishA and are willing to contribute to the cause of oDishA, its language (oDiA) and its culture. The membership categories and dues as may be applicable shall be described in the by-laws.

6.3. A membership application may be rejected if the person was ever expelled from OdiSA unless otherwise decided by the board of advisors and the membership committee.

6.4. OdiSA reserves the right to deny membership to anyone if it is so decided by the board of advisors and the membership committee or is found not to satisfy the membership requirements as specified in Section 6.1 and Section 6.2.

6.5. Membership of OdiSA is not transferable and terminates upon cessation of persons membership as per the by-laws.

6.6. Joint membership is not allowed under this constitution. For example, in case of a family each member of the family above 18years of age are individual members of the group though they may pay membership fees as a family or as may be decided under the by-laws from time to time.

6.7. Person below 18 years of age cannot be member of the Organization though they are allowed to participate in various activities of the Organization with guidance and authorization of their parent or guardian.

6.8. The members of the Organization shall have no liability to contribute towards the payment of the debts and liability of the Organization or the costs, charges and expenses of the winding up of the Organization except for the unpaid membership fee and personal guarantee, if any.

6.9. Each member will have one vote for all kind of voting and quorum purpose and no proxy is allowed.

6.10. The members of the organization vow to safeguard the ethics and values of the organization and set a standard for excellence at all times.

6.11. The members of the organization vow to treat the organization as one family
