1.4. Membership Types
1.4.1. The membership type of the Organization will be decided by the Board of Advisors and the Membership Committee from time to time. The initial membership type will include the followings.
1.4.2. Annual membership: This mainly refers to members who are willing to be permanent member of the Organization but are paying their membership dues in yearly installments.
1.4.2.1. This type of members will be considered as permanent member of the Organization. However, if the membership fee is in arrear for more than 12months then the membership status will be that of a guest member and all the sections applicable to guest membership will apply.
1.4.2.2. If a member joins back after being terminated as per section 1.4.3.1 then all the pervious years as paid member prior to the termination will be counted for the provision of his permanent membership.
1.4.2.3. If a member is terminated as per section 1.4.3.1 for three times then he/she will lose half of the membership fees (contributed so far) to be counted for the provision of the permanent membership.
1.4.2.4. The numbers of yearly installments require to be paid for permanent membership will be decided by the Board of Advisors and Membership Committee from time to time as may be required. However, the initial number of yearly installments will be 15.
1.4.2.5. If a continuing member under this membership type seeks to upgrade his membership to any category of full permanent membership at any time then 66.66% of the membership fees contributed so far by him will be considered for the up gradation. For example, if a member has paid five yearly installments then 66.66% of the total fees contributed by him during those five years will be taken as contribution towards full permanent membership and he will be required to pay the differential in one installment as may be decided by the Board of Advisors and Finance committee.
1.4.3. Student Membership: A person who is a full time student could apply for a student membership.
1.4.3.1. A student member will have same status as annual membership and all the rules applicable to annual membership will be applicable to a student member except as stated below.
1.4.3.2. A student member will be required to pay the differential amount if any between membership fees paid at student rate and membership fees applicable to full annual membership if the membership contribution to be counted for the provision of the permanent membership.
1.4.3.3. If no differential amount is paid as per section 14.4.2 then only half of the amount paid (rounded down) will be counted for the provision of permanent membership and the yearly installments will be calculated accordingly.
1.4.4. Permanent Membership: Member for life time is considered as permanent member unless otherwise terminated by any provision of the constitution.
1.4.4.1. A person can be a permanent member of the Organization by paying required fees and following formalities required under the constitution and by-laws.
1.4.4.2. If a permanent member is terminated or resigned under the constitution and the by-laws then he/she will be eligible for refund of fess in excess of fees applicable to him for number of year he/she is a member at annual membership rate. However, if a permanent member resigns within first seven years of the membership then maxim refund could be 50% of the membership fees contributed by him as a full permanent member.
1.4.4.3. For the purpose of refund under section 1.4.5.2 any amount due from the member for any purposes to the Organization could be adjusted with the membership fee refundable.
1.4.4.4. No other amount will be refunded other than the membership fees. For example if a member has contributed more than the membership fees or contributed for any project or any other purpose then those will not be considered for refund purpose.
1.4.4.5. This membership may have more than one category as may be required for best interest of the Organization from time to time.
1.4.5. Single Membership: Any person could apply for this type of permanent membership.
1.4.5.1. All the rules applicable to permanent membership will be applicable to this type of membership.
1.4.5.2. Fees applicable to this type of membership will be decided by the Board of Advisors and the Membership Committee from time to time as may be required.
1.4.6. Family Membership: A married couple with or without children below under the age of 18 could apply for this type of membership.
1.4.6.1. Fees applicable to this type of members will be decided by the Board of Advisors and the Membership Committee from time to time as may be required.
1.4.6.2. In a family membership only the couple will be considered as permanent member of the Organization in their individual right. Any other member of the family above 18 years of age will not be automatically a member of the Organization because of the family membership.
1.4.6.3. Children under age 18 may chose to enjoy the guest membership till they reach the age of 18.
1.4.6.4. Though the children as per section 1.4.7.3 may be considered as guest member of the Organization sections 1.4.2.1 to 1.4.2.3 will not be applicable to them but they will be considered as guest member for all other practical purposes.
